Our Vessels

Hervey Bay Fly and Sportfising currently has 4 vessels, our 3 main vessels service the Bay and Sandy Straits with our smaller 4.3 m  vessel used to target freshwater barramundi and Australian bass. All our vessels meet tight AMSA regulations and carry first aid and VHF radio. 


" Deceiver " Is a 6.8 m Hooker Centre console custom built for Hervey Bay Fly and Sportfishing.  It boasts plenty of space and can accommodate up to 4 anglers.It is fitted out with the  latest Lowrance electronics including 3 d structure scan and is powered by a Yamaha 200 four stroke.

" Deceiver is skippered by head guide Andrew ( chozza ).The name " Deceiver"  came from a famous fly pattern invented by the god father of saltwater fly fishing across the world, Lefty     Kreh. 





 " Scampi " is our second Hooker in the fleet. It is a 5.5 m custom sportfishing center console which has proven to punch well above it's weight in choppy seas. It is fitted out with the  latest lowrance electronics including 3d structure scan and motorguide electric bowmount.

" Scampi "  is powered by an efficient and quite 140 hp Suzuki fourstroke. It is skippered by our senior  guide Muz and got the name " Scampi " from one of Jon Makims fly patterns which  Muz has used to great effect on the bay. 





 " Gotcha " is a Galeforce 18.5 ft Centre console which has been custom built for Hervey Bay Fly and Sportfishing. Galeforce boats have a great reputation for a safe and dry ride and are  a popular vessel for guides right across Australia.

 "Gotcha " features both rear and front casting decks, 2 ice box’s, plenty of dry storage, minn kota bow mount electric, the latest lowrance electronics, fusion mp3 player. "Gotcha" is      powered by a quiete and efficient 100 hp Yamaha fourstroke.  The name "Gotcha " came from a famous bonefish pattern which Andrew caught his first bonefish on. 




"Sand Fish " is our creek fishing vessel, it is used for the impoundment's and fresh water reaches of our rivers  along with tight creek systems where a smaller vessel is required. It has been a great back up vessel on those days that the bay is blown out. Sandfish is powered by a 50 hp Yamaha and has lowrance electronics and minn kota bow mount electric.
